Thai massage and spas
It is a crime to be in Thailand and not experience the charm of Thai massage, you should take at least one day for a massage. The list of spa services is very long: massage parlors, herbal steam rooms, jacuzzis with healing aroma, mud baths, sea salt scrubs, aromatherapy, colonotherapy, facial massage and much more!
There are even more places just for massage, they are practically at every step. Sometimes sex services may be offered under the guise of Thai massage, but more often than not, it is really traditional Thai massage. It is extremely popular, so the choice is wide, from a simple massage parlor to artsy spas.
Traditional Thai massage is a technique of twisting and stretching the joints that relieves tension in the body and activates bio-active points, which is extremely beneficial. Some techniques are painful, but the results are worth it. For something more relaxing, order an oil massage. Warmed aromatic oil is used, which softens the efforts of the master and allows you to relax more quickly. Or try a foot massage. The master works with his feet and knees over your back, which activates bio-active points and restores energy flows
The founder of Thai massage is the Indian healer Shivago Comparaja, who two and a half thousand years ago brought to Thailand knowledge about massage, about the impact on the body's meridians (energy channels), joints, sensitive points and vital organs. His Thai followers have kept and developed the technique. Currently, there are two main schools of Thai massage: North and Central (or South). The southern, Bangkog school, is considered more aristocratic. Northern, in simple terms, is a village school. It was in the North, in the villages that Thai massage originated.
Thai massage combines rhythmic massage, acupressure, twisting, squeezing, stretching and special energy activation techniques. Thai massage techniques are performed while wearing clothes, lying on the floor on a mat or mat using hands, feet, knees, elbows, palms, feet, forearms and fingers. A massage session can last from 30 minutes to 2 hours.
