SWIFT transfer to Thailand
If you are a citizen of the Russian Federation, then you can’t just transfer from your Russian account to Thai. You must prepare in advance and inform the tax office within a month that you have a foreign bank account and continue to provide reports on the availability of funds in such an account.
It is possible to make a SWIFT transfer also to a citizen of the Russian Federation, who is located in Thailand. In this case, there are limits, for example, $ 10,000 per day for transfers to relatives and half as much for other cases. For such a transfer, we advise you to indicate in the appropriate field for the purpose of payment that it is a “gift”. In this case, there is no restriction, but any documents that can justify such a transfer are necessary.
A few words about the commission. Banks of the Russian Federation charge a commission of 0.2-1% of the transfer amount, but not less than $ 15. It is possible to reduce the commission if you make a transfer through online banking. What exactly will be the interest in this case from your bank - it is worth clarifying. Do not forget that the banks of Thailand can also take their commission for receiving a transfer, which usually ranges from 0.25% (at least 200 baht). We recommend spending a little time and comparing the conditions for commission deductions and choosing for yourself the most profitable banks for making transfers.
