Wat Chalong Temple

The largest and one of the most luxurious temple complexes in the province. From 1876 to 1908, his rector was the well-known healer and monk-rector Luang Pho Than, who was distinguished by care and courage for the local population during the difficult times of riots in the tin mines of Chinese workers. Many parishioners went to the shelter and hid from the angry crowd of rebels in its walls. According to legend, Luang Pho Than could heal even the most hopeless patient. Very good knowledge of human anatomy, the powerful power of healing herbs made a Buddhist monk a true legend, and his magnificent cane, which, as the locals say, still has healing properties, is stored in the Wat Chalong temple

It is worth noting that when visiting Buddhist temples and shrines, certain rules should be strictly observed. A woman must have her shoulders and knees covered, but men are allowed a little more - they can wear a T-shirt and pants. Shorts are prohibited. If dress code rules are not followed, intercultural conflict is ensured
