Bike rental in Bali

Living and traveling in Bali without personal transport is unthinkable - we were convinced of this literally from the first days when we arrived on the island for the first time
ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ
We will write about renting a car separately, but now we will focus on the most common and affordable form of transport in Bali - motobike (also known as a scooter)
ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ
Most of the roads here are quite narrow, and it is much more convenient to maneuver on a bike - this is especially felt in cities where you can get stuck in traffic jams and on mountain roads, where trucks creep forever. Often, houses, especially where there are rice fields, are located on very narrow streets and you can only drive up to them on two-wheeled vehicles
ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ
The cost of renting a scooter in Bali varies greatly, depending on the term and model - as a rule it is 50-80 thousand rupees per day ($ 4-6) or 700-1200 thousand rupees ($ 50-90) per month for the simplest options. When renting a bike for a year, you can agree on good discounts. In general, on average, prices here are 2 times cheaper than in Thailand or India
ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ
The difference in prices is due to the different state of technology, the place where you rent and additional conditions. Here we do not recommend chasing cheapness and trying to save $ 20 per month, as a rule, used bikes are rented at the lowest price, with huge mileage, which is unknown how they behave somewhere on a serpentine. Better to take a little more expensive, but more reliable equipment.

Popular scooter models in Bali:
ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ
- Honda Vario
The most popular and versatile scooter, it is well suited for two-person riding, it drives into pretty steep slides without problems
ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ
- Honda Scoopy
An analog of Vario, but in a more extravagant performance, girls especially love it. A little unusual in terms of control, but the seat is softer and much more comfortable on the back.
ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ
- Suzuki Skywave
Also an analog of Vario, but from another manufacturer, is also suitable for two passengers (or one, but oversized) ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ

- Yamaha NMAX 155
An excellent maxiscooter that has gained popularity in Bali recently. Powerful, stable, comfortable, perfect for long trips around the island. Almost perfect vehicle. Of the minuses - it’s a little more difficult to maneuver in traffic jams and there is no hook in order to hang a grocery bag
ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ
- Kawasaki Ninja 250 / Honda CBR 250
Sports bike - stylish, fast, quite convenient for those who are not the first time behind the wheel and can manage with similar equipment
ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ
- Yamaha Byson 150
Something between a scooter and a motorcycle with the minuses of both - not particularly powerful, but there is no place for things. The main plus - it looks pretty. It can be taken as an alternative to a scooter, if you want to try something new and learn how to deal with mechanics
